# Regional Developments and Tensions Amid War with the Islamic Republic; Concerns Over Conflict and Roles of Regional and International Actors

Russian spy satellites and Chinese technologies have played roles in attacks by allies of the Islamic Republic against Saudi Arabia. Gulf countries are striving for a multilateral agreement to prevent renewed war with the Islamic Republic. Israel’s interim government may have limitations in authorizing war but cannot be fully prevented from doing so. Additionally, flights at Aden airport have been halted following Houthi missile attacks, indicating ongoing regional tensions.

Reports reveal that Houthi forces in Yemen and militias backed by the Islamic Republic have used intelligence from Russian spy satellites and Chinese technologies to carry out attacks on oil and military targets in Saudi Arabia. The Guardian states that Gulf countries are negotiating a multilateral deal to avoid another war with the Islamic Republic. Reuters analysis reports that Israel’s interim government after recent elections may have restrictions on authorizing war, but still retains significant decision-making powers. Flights at Aden airport were suspended following Houthi missile strikes, a sign of continuing regional tensions.
