Privacy and optional analytics

An anonymous browser cookie supports voting and comments. Bookmarks, player, appearance and accessibility preferences stay in your browser. Administrators use a separate sign-in cookie. Forms collect the information you choose to submit for comments, news tips and subscription preferences.

Reader accounts are optional. We store your username, display name, password hash and optional unverified contact email; a separate essential cookie keeps you signed in. Named comments use your account display name. Choosing anonymous removes the account attribution from that comment or feedback message. Signed-in votes are associated with your account privately, while only totals appear publicly.

Feedback, suggestions and issue reports are private to staff. Messages linked to an account and staff replies remain available in that account’s feedback inbox. Anonymous messages have no account link or contact email and cannot receive replies. Guests may leave an optional email so staff can reply through their email app. To limit abuse, we retain hashed network/browser/account identifiers with temporary rate counters, and use timed single-use form tokens. These operational protections do not depend on analytics consent.

Google Analytics and optional RoozGozin usage statistics operate only after consent. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. You can change your choice through Analytics preferences. We measure page visits, category and language choices, feature use and audio playback. The local language comparison uses random browser/session identifiers, stores only their hashes with daily counters, and retains them for up to 90 days. Revoking consent stops collection and clears its browser identifiers.

Analytics events exclude form contents, comments, email addresses, search terms and login information. Advertising personalization is disabled. AI providers process news text for writing, translation and narration; external source links and images may involve independent services.

Subscription requests remain pending until email delivery and address verification are connected. To request correction or deletion of information you submitted, contact support. Do not send passwords, API keys or sensitive information.
